HAP40也適用於製作一般要求的單刃刀具。
HAP40也適合作為對耐磨性有嚴格要求的冷作模具。

例如：沖孔，成形，沖壓模等。

此鋼種具有極好的耐磨性和韌性，優于其他高合金的冷作鋼。
