Titāns ir ķīmiskais elements ar simbolu Ti un atomskaitli 22. Dabā titāns nav sastopams brīvā veidā, taču ir sastopams rūdās, un kā piemaisījums citu metālu rūdām. Titāns ir viegls, izturīgs un korozijas izturīgs metāls. Titānu nevar iegūt ar pirometalurģiskām metodēm (reducējot ar oglekli paaugstinātā temperatūrā), tapēc, ka tas tad reaģē ar gaisu. Titānu iegūst no hlorīda, kuru pēc tam attīra un reducē inertu gāzu atmosfērā ar magniju, tas ir dārgi. Titāna dioksīdu lieto par balto pigmentu (krāsai). Titāna hlorīds istabas temperatūrā ir šķidrums. Savienojumos titānam parasti ir vērtība +4, lai arī var būt +3.
