中國多家航空公司將購買50架波音B787客機，合同價達60億美元，預料將在8月初簽訂合同。

預計第一架波音B787飛機於2008年6月交付中國，並可服務於2008年北京奧運會。

據國家發展改革委稱，有航空關公司包括中國國際航空、東方航空、海南航空、廈門航空和上海航空。

這是上述公司今年1月28日就引進美國波音公司B787客機簽訂框架協議後，中美雙方公司對引進飛機進行了認真深入的合同談判，並於近日達成協議。

波音B787飛機是波音公司最新研製的機型，其燃油經濟性預計將比現有同類機型提高20%，維修成本可降低15%。

此外，這種217座位的長途客機在航行舒適性、降低噪音等方面也將比現有機型有進一步改善。

與此同時，中國航空製造業也與波音公司在分包生產B787飛機零部件方面取得了積極進展。

國家發展改革委表示，此類新型客機可以較好地滿足中國民航業快速發展的需要，有助於相關航空公司降低運營成本、提升競爭力。

隨著經濟發展迅速，美國波音公司和歐洲空中客車公司都看準了中國這個巨大的市場，並展開了激烈的競爭。

今年早前，中國與空中客車簽訂了購買五架A350飛機合約。這種新型的A350是A330的改良型號，改進的目的就是針對波音公司B787。
