Monotungsten carbide, WC, or Ditungsten Carbide, W2C, is a chemical compound containing tungsten and carbon, similar to titanium carbide. Tungsten is a very hard and dense metal, mined from Wolframite ore and symbolized by a (W) on the periodic table of elements. It melts at an extraordinary 6,192 degrees Fahrenheit–the highest melting point of all metals. On its own, tungsten is vulnerable to scratches and damage just like any other metal, such as titanium and steel. Tungsten does not gain its extreme hardness until it is combined with a carbon alloy, transferring it into tungsten carbide (WC) with a hardness between 8.5 and 9.5 on the Mohs hardness scale. Tungsten carbide is four times harder than titanium, twice as hard as steel, is virtually unscratchable, and has been widely used for decades in industrial applications such as cutting tools, mining machinery, and rocket engine nozzles. Its extreme hardness makes it useful in the manufacture of cutting tools, abrasives and bearings, as a cheaper and more heat-resistant alternative to diamond. Tungsten carbide is also used as a scratch-resistant material for jewelry including watch bands and wedding rings.

[edit] Uses in machine tools

Carbide cutting surfaces are often useful when machining through materials such as carbon steel or stainless steel, as well as in situations where other tools would wear away, such as high-quantity production runs. Sometimes, carbide will leave a better finish on the part, and allow faster machining. Carbide tools can also withstand higher temperatures than standard high speed steel tools. The material is usually tungsten-carbide cobalt, also called "cemented carbide", a metal matrix composite where tungsten carbide particles are the aggregate and metallic cobalt serves as the matrix. The process of combining tungsten carbide with cobalt is referred to as sintering or Hot Isostatic Pressing (HIP). During this process cobalt eventually will be entering the liquid stage and WC grains (>> higher melting point) remain in the solid stage. As a result of this process cobalt is embedding/cementing the WC grains and thereby creates the metal matrix composite with its distinct material properties. The naturally ductile cobalt metal serves to offset the characteristic brittle behavior of the tungsten carbide ceramic, thus raising its toughness and durability. Such parameters of tungsten carbide can be changed significantly within the carbide manufacturers sphere of influence, primarily determined by grain size, cobalt content, dotation (e.g. aloy carbides) and carbon content.

Machining with carbide can be difficult, as carbide is more brittle than other tool materials, making it susceptible to chipping and breaking. To offset this, many manufacturers sell carbide inserts and matching insert holders. With this setup, the small carbide insert is held in place by a larger tool made of a less brittle material (usually steel). This gives the benefit of using carbide without the high cost of making the entire tool out of carbide. Most modern face mills use carbide inserts, as well as some lathe tools and endmills.

To increase the life of carbide tools, they are sometimes coated. Four such coatings are TiN (titanium nitride), TiC (titanium carbide), Ti(C)N (titanium carbide-nitride), and TiAlN (Titanium Aluminum Nitride). (Newer coatings, known as DLC (Diamond Like Coating) are beginning to surface, enabling the cutting power of diamond without the unwanted chemical reaction between real diamond and iron.) Most coatings generally increase a tool's hardness and/or lubricity. A coating allows the cutting edge of a tool to cleanly pass through the material without having the material gall (stick) to it. The coating also helps to decrease the temperature associated with the cutting process and increase the life of the tool. The coating is usually deposited via thermal CVD and, for certain appilcations, with the mechanical PVD method. However if the deposition is performed at too high temperature, an eta phase of a Co6W6C tertiary carbide forms at the interface between the carbide and the cobalt phase, facilitating adhesion failure of the coating.

Tungsten carbide is often used in armor-piercing ammunition, especially where depleted uranium is not available or not politically acceptable. The first use of W2C projectiles occurred in Luftwaffe tank-hunter squadrons, which used 37 mm autocannon equipped Ju-87G Stuka attack planes to destroy Soviet T-34 tanks in WWII. Owing to the limited German reserves of tungsten, W2C material was reserved for making machine tools and small numbers of projectiles for the most elite combat pilots, like Hans Rudel. It is an effective penetrator due to its high hardness value combined with a very high density.

Tungsten carbide ammunition can be of the sabot type (a large arrow surrounded by a discarding push cylinder) or a subcaliber ammunition, where copper or other relatively soft material is used to encase the hard penetrating core, the two parts being separated only on impact. The latter is more common in small-caliber arms, while sabots are usually reserved for artillery use.

Tungsten carbide is also an effective neutron reflector and as such was used during early investigations into nuclear chain reactions, particularly for weapons. A criticality accident occurred at Los Alamos National Laboratory on 21 August 1945 when Harry K. Daghlian, Jr. accidentally dropped a tungsten carbide brick onto a plutonium sphere causing the sub-critical mass to go critical with the reflected neutrons.

Hard carbides, especially tungsten carbide, are used by athletes, generally on poles which impact hard surfaces. Trekking poles, used by many hikers for balance and to reduce pressure on leg joints, generally use carbide tips in order to gain traction when placed on hard surfaces (like rock); such carbide tips last much longer than other types of tips. Rocks along many popular hiking trails, such as the Appalachian Trail and Pacific Crest Trail, are scratched and pockmarked from hundreds or thousands of impacts from pole tips.[citation needed]

While ski pole tips are generally not made of carbide, since they do not need to be especially hard even to break through layers of ice, rollerski tips usually are. Roller skiing emulates cross country skiing and is used by many skiers to train during warm weather months. Because skiers require traction on bitumen (asphalt) carbide tips are used in the sport.[citation needed]

Some tire manufacturers, such as Nokian and Schwalbe, offer bicycle tires with tungsten carbide studs for better traction on ice. These are generally preferred over steel studs because of their wear resistance.

[edit] Domestic use

Tungsten carbide is used as the rotating ball in the tips of ballpoint pens to disperse ink during writing[1].

Tungsten carbide can now be found in the inventory of some jewelers, most notably as the primary material in men's wedding bands. When used in this application the bands appear with a lustrous dark hue often buffed to a mirror finish. The finish is highly resistant to scratches and scuffs, holding its mirror-like shine for years. A danger associated with this use is the occasional need to remove rings in the course of emergency medical treatment. Emergency rooms are usually equipped with jewelers' saws that can easily cut through gold and silver rings without injuring the patient when the ring cannot be slipped off easily. However, these saws are incapable of cutting through tungsten carbide.[2]

Tungsten carbide rings can actually be removed in an emergency situation by cracking them into pieces with standard vice grip–style locking pliers. Although standard ring cutting tools cannot be used due to the hardness of this material, there are specialty cutters available that are just as effective on tungsten carbide as they are on gold and platinum.

Many manufacturers of this emerging jewelry state that the use of a cobalt binder may cause unwanted reactions between the cobalt and the natural oils on human skin. Skin oils cause the cobalt to leach from the material. This is said to cause possible irritation of the skin and permanent staining of the jewelry itself. Many manufacturers now advertise that their jewelry is "cobalt free". This is obtained by substituting the cobalt with nickel as a binder.[citation needed]

在 拖式混凝土泵车中,有一种典型的大直径薄壁零件——中间套,其内孔直径为202mm,外径为212mm,壁厚仅为5mm,且该零件各尺寸之间的形位精度要 求较高,外圆表面粗糙度Ra要求为0.4µm,外圆圆度误差要求小于0.010mm。由于零件壁厚较薄,在磨削外圆时,如果不采取措施,常常会因为夹紧 力、磨削力、磨削热、内应力等原因,使工件产生较大的变形,不能保证零件的加工质量为减小零件的变形,我们根据零件的结构特点,制订了合理的加工工艺流 程,设计了专用磨削夹具并采取了特殊的装夹方法,可以有效地保证该类零件的加工质量。

  1、零件在磨削外圆时的变形分析

  根据零件的外形特点,采用锥度心轴装夹时,工件在夹紧力的作用下,由于锥体的作用而产生的径向分力会使工件变形。此外,由于在磨削时,工件的 内壁磨削热不易散失,磨削热也是引起薄壁零件变形的重要原因。由于工件变形,磨削后工件会形成马鞍形(图2),难以保证工件的圆度及同轴度误差要求,必须 通过设计专用夹具并采用合理的工艺方案才能确保零件的加工质量。

  2、夹具结构和使用原理

  1.心轴 2.固定销 3.左定位板 4.拉杆 5.支撑板 6.右定位板 7.弹簧套 8.压板 9.带肩螺母 10.顶丝螺栓11.工件

  该夹具为心轴、涨套可调式结构,由心轴1、固定销2、左定位板3、拉杆4、支撑板5、右定位板6、弹簧套7、压板8、带肩螺母9和顶丝螺栓 10组成,其中左、右定位板与工件之间的配合为H6/h5, 右定位板6与弹性套7之间的配合为E8/h7。弹簧套7的内锥度为20°使用夹具时,先用固定销2将左定位板3固定在心轴1上,然后在心轴的另一端安装上 支撑板5,以零件加工好的内孔为定位基准装入夹具,再将右定位板6装在心轴上并与零件内孔配合,在夹具上插人两根拉杆4(位置均布)并用螺母锁紧,这样就 将夹具紧固在工件上了:然后再将弹簧套7插入心轴1与右定位板6之间的间隙中,安装压板,拧紧心轴上的带肩螺母9,将弹簧套压入,弹簧套就可以起到自动定 心作用,而使心轴的轴线与工件的轴线保持一致,夹具就安装完成了。零件加工好后先松开带肩螺母9,拧动三个顶丝螺栓10(三个顶丝螺栓10位置均布,并与 两根拉杆4位置错开),右定位板就可带动弹簧套7沿相反方向退出工件,夹具就可以方便的拆卸了。

  3、砂轮选型

  选择砂轮时,砂轮特性如磨料、粒度、硬度、结合剂、石墨填料和砂轮组织对磨削质量都有影响,如果选择不当,就难以使工件达到预期的表面粗糙 度。此外还应尽可能提高砂轮的切削性能,控制好砂轮工作表面磨粒的微刃及其等高,并使其保持锋利状态。鉴于该零件的材料为45号钢,为降低零件表面粗糙 度,所选用的砂轮磨料的粒度要适中,硬度可以稍小一些。这是因为太硬的砂轮当其已完全钝化后,磨粒仍不能脱落,继续磨削反而使粗糙度变大。实际应用中,砂 轮的选用以微晶刚玉或单晶刚玉、硬度为中级(K)、粒度为46号至60号为宜。此外,砂轮在使用前必须要经过修整,使砂轮表面有良好的磨粒切刃和微刃的脱 粒性及等高性,从而确保工件磨削的表面粗糙度要求。

  4、加工设备

  为减小零件加工的形位误差,设备的选择非常重要。要求机床主轴要有较高的回转精度,径向跳动不大于0.001 mm,主轴刚度好,机床各部分不应有振动现象,因此最好选择较新的机床。结合我公司的实际情况,设备选用MB1332B型普通外圆磨床。

  5、磨削液及冷却方式

  为降低切削热,切削液可采用无油、无亚硝酸钠的LPG-1高效磨削冷却液该冷却液是以高效极压润滑剂为添加剂作为配方基础,并从防锈、渗透、 抗硬水性、清洗、消泡和杀菌等方面综合考虑的,具有环保、清洗性好、去油率高、冷却性好等优点,能节约大量能源和降低砂轮消耗,提高磨削用量,并提高生产 效率。

  使用磨削液时,应采用从磨削区下部供给切削液的方法,这样既可以使切削液很容易达到砂轮与工件接触的磨削区,同时又能使砂轮在磨削工件之后得 到及时的冷却和清洗,从而延长砂轮的使用寿命、保持砂轮的几何形状,并可以在磨削连续表面时,使工件保持较低的温度,提高工件的形状与位置精度。

  6、磨削用量

  磨削时分为粗、精磨多道工序,这样可以使粗磨时产生的变形能在精磨时得以消除。磨削时,磨削用量选择应合适,粗磨时,砂轮的线速度为 15~20m/s,工件转速为35~70 r/min,工作台移动速度为0.03~0.05m/min;精磨时,砂轮的线速度为10~15m/s,工件转速为50~80r/min,工作台移动速度 为0.02~0.03m/min。

  7、工件的装夹

  由于选用的设备为普通外圆磨床,在采用两顶尖装夹上件时,两顶尖、两中心孔同轴度误差将直接影响工件的加工精度,零件要求的加工质量很难保 证。因此,为消除因工件两中心孔制造误差及两顶尖安装误差对工件圆度的影响,在装夹工件时,可以采取如图4所示方法选用两个特殊顶尖套2,顶尖套材料选用 GCr15钢,车出外圆后磨削,中心孔使用60°特殊中心钻钻出,淬硬至60HRC,并用特殊内圆砂轮磨出中心孔,再以中心孔定位磨出外圆,并研磨中心孔 至表面粗糙度Ra0.4,压入莫氏锥柄。然后将两个特殊顶尖装人外圆磨床头尾架,选用直径为1/2英寸的0级钢球,并与图2所示的专用夹具配合,通过使用 夹头和拨盘即可完成工件的装夹(图5)。用高精度钢球代替锥形顶尖,可把面接触改为线接触,消除了中心孔精度对工件加工精度的影响,可以显著提高工件的圆 度。

  8、磨削时的注意事项

  在精磨时,为减小夹紧力引起的工件变形,夹具的夹紧力应比粗磨时小一些。

  磨削后,为了防止工件生锈,工件应做除水、消除杂质及防锈处理。

  校正好砂轮的平衡。砂轮不平衡将引起振动,会对零件的形位精度造成影响,因此在磨削工件前,必须校正好砂轮的动、静平衡,并进行精细的修整。

  磨削工件前将工作台和砂轮空运转20-30min,使机床工作性能稳定。在空运转的同时,要把机床液压缸中的空气排净Mli<安装工件前,应检查两顶尖与工件中心孔的配合情况,必须将两顶尖和工件上的中心孔擦干净。

  9、应用效果

  该工艺方案简单、实用,夹具设计合理,应用方便,制造成本低,零件拆卸容易,通用性强,使用效果好,既可以有效确保工件加工质量,又能够提高工效,适于大直径薄壁类零件的批量生产。   (信息来源:机械电子频道子站

鑄鐵是一種以含碳(可高達4%)及矽(可高達3.5%)為主的鐵合金,可分下例各種形態的鑄鐵:



(一)灰口鑄鐵:該鑄鐵之碳以游離碳或以片狀石墨分佈於其   中,其破斷面呈灰色。



(二)白口鑄鐵:該種鑄鐵之碳以化合態、雪明碳鐵存石,其破斷面呈白色結晶表面。



(三)可鍛鑄鐵:將適當化學成份之白口鑄鐵經熱處理後使其具有延性或可鍛性的一種鑄鐵,其碳是以球狀聚集的石墨存在。



(四)球墨鑄鐵:於鑄鐵水中加入一些鎂,使其中之部份碳變成球狀石墨,此種鑄鐵之破斷面呈一種像鋼般的光亮斷面。

什麼是鎢鋼?鎢鋼製造流程又是如何?有人知道嗎?有圖

嗎?因為我想了解最好是有圖解,點數多少不是問

題,只怕沒人回答!因為要做研究報告,也要包括鎢鋼

鎢鋼是碳化鎢的俗稱,英文是 Tungsten Carbide ,當然除了碳跟鎢之外還加了鈷以及其他的合金材料以增加他的機械性能。

因為鎢鋼的硬度很高,所以常用來做為切削刀具的材質。

鎢鋼一般是用粉末燒結的方式製成。就是將鎢粉末、碳黑粉末、用作結合劑的鈷金屬粉末以及其他合金粉末混合後,施以高壓,在高溫下燒結而成。

鎢鋼的機械性質主要由兩個部分影響,第一個部分是鈷的含量。鈷的含量越高硬度越低但是韌性較好。另一個是粉末的粒徑,粒徑越小越耐磨,但是成本較高。

1. Introduction
Tungsten carbide/cobalt (“WC/Co”) is widely used for cutting tools, metal forming tools, mining tools, and wear resistance surfaces, with wide range of applications, ranging from aerospace, automobile, to home appliances. For these applications, the mechanical properties of interest are hardness, toughness, compressive strength, transverse rupture strength, and wear resistance. The first patents on WC/Co were issued to the Germany company “Osram Studiengesellschaft” in 1923, with the first marketable hardmetal of WC/6w.t.%Co, was produced in 1926 under the name of “Widia.”

Over the past century, researches in WC/Co hardmetal were focused on improving the manufacturing process, so that the as-produced WC/Co has maximized hardness while maintaining a reasonable toughness. All these activities are constrained in the frame of micrometer structured carbide material. In the late 70s and early 80s, ultrafine or submicron WC materials are then introduced, thus greatly extended the application of WC into new emerging applications in the area of microelectronics and telecommunications. Today several companies are producing submicrometer WC materials, including OMG, Tokyo Tungsten, and Sandvick. These companies are capable of producing tonnage quantities of WC powder and bulk materials with carbide size >100 nm and <1>

The concept of making nanograined WC powder was first introduced by Kear et al at Exxon. The manufacturing process was later developed by Nanodyne in collaboration with Rutgers University. Kear’s process uses a wet chemical process, where W and Co are uniformly mixed at the molecular level, intermediate pre-carbide form was then produced via a spray dry process, and the final carbide formation process was accomplished via a fluidized bed reactor. In the late 90s, Nanodyne was capable of producing up to few hundred quantities in batch operation mode. The Nanodyne process was bought by Union Muniere (a Belgium company), with the intention of full commercialization. In the last years, Union Muniere had tried very hard to convert Kear’s batch process into a commercial quantities production via a fluidized bed reactor. Due to the intrinsic limitation of the Kear process, commercialization of nanostructured WC eventually failure, and Union Muniere had shutdown the nanostructured WC/Co activity in 2001.

Learned from Nanodyne’s hard process lessons, Inframat Corporation (“IMC”) had taken rather a different approach to manufacturing superfine WC/Co material. IMC’s process utilized the low cost and scalable wet chemical synthesis technique, yet its operation uses a continuous production mode, so that the process can be precisely controlled and stable at different stage of carburization process. To date, large quantities of superfine WC powders with a superfine particle size WC, have been produced in continuous operation mode. Thus, we anticipate no commercialization barrier to this technology.

2. Technology Description
Powder production. IMC’s nanostructured WC materials are produced via a wet chemical process, where precursors of W and C are mixed at the molecular level in an aqueous media. A low temperature conversion of the liquid precursor produces a preceramic intermediate product. Further chemical process of this preceramic powder using IMC’s a proprietary continuous heat treatment schedule at controlled stages resulted in superfine structured WC material. The as-synthesized WC powder has average grain size of ~ 40 nm. These nanograined WC particles are agglomerated with average agglomerate size of 0.2 to 0.4 micron.

The next step in IMC’s synthesis process is to add a cobalt source into the WC materials to produce a superfine WC/Co composite. Thus, the final powder can be sold to venders as either WC powders or ready-to-press WC/Co composite powders. Under appropriate processing procedures, they can be engineered to either submicrometer particle sized or nanograin sized powders.

WC/Co Hardmetal Development. IMC is developing a variety of leading edge technologies in the area of hardmetals (tungsten carbide/cobalt and its alloys) that enable exceptional hardness in end products comprised of these materials without concomitant loss in fracture toughness. This performance edge is achieved by an important innovation in the alloying of proprietary grain growth inhibitors with tungsten carbide/cobalt powders, both for nanostructured WC/Co and superfine WC/Co. IMC is now developing industrial scale pilot plant capability to manufacture and sell these nanoscale and superfine alloyed powders under the trade names Nanalloy® and InfralloyTM. These proprietary tungsten carbide products can be sold as is for the thermal sprayed coatings industry or in bulk consolidated (sintered) form for the cutting tools and related industries.

IMC’s technology is based on a chemical process for the synthesis of WC and WC/Co powders, in which the individual W, C, and/or Co precursors are intimately mixed at the molecular level, yielding a uniquely homogeneous product with exceptional high performance. IMC has developed exceptionally hard bulk consolidated composite materials, with hardness measured up to 2300 VHN. These sintered materials exhibit unparalleled fracture toughness at this level of hardness. These materials are compression sintered in inert gas or vacuum furnaces to form highly homogeneous monoliths. The hardness of the sintered products is found to be a function of cobalt content. Typically, cutting tool applications force the minimum Co content level to be above 6%, below which the material cannot be sintered.

Superfine ceramic-Metal (”Cermet”) bulk materials have been shown to exhibit improved wear resistance. The key advantage of superfine cermet is in the greatly improved toughness and hardness, wear resistance. In conventional materials, hardness and toughness are mutually exclusive attributes. Generally, very hard materials lack toughness, and vice versa. Fig. 1 shows that this inverse proportionality is shifted upward and outward in the case of superfine cermets, and effectively, these materials exhibit excellent values for both hardness and toughness. This unusual marriage of properties is anticipated to enable applications where both properties are required. Tooling is a common example of this dual requirement.

Fig. 2 shows a typical abrasive wear behavior of the sintered WC/Co Nanalloy Ingot, performed by ABB under simulated deep sea mining application. As a comparison, Sandvick’s superfine WC/Co was also used as a base line. The data suggested that IMC’s WC/Co composite is advantages to the current best superfine Sandivk’s WC/Co ingot for deep-sea petroleum applications. This improved wear behavior is benefited from a combination of increased hardness and toughness.

Fig. 3 shows a typical cavitation behavior of the sintered WC/Co Nanolloy Ingot, performed by Hydro-Qubet for hydropower plant applications. As a comparison, Conventional WC/Co was also used as a base line. The data suggested that IMC’s WC/Co composite is at least 4X better than the current used WC/Co material.

3. Commercialization Status
IMC had completed all the scientific experimental research work in making superfine sized WC/Co powders and hardmetal ingots. IMC had completed pilot plant production of this unique WC powder, and is in the processing commercializing this material at US with tonnage quantities. Inframat is currently forming a joint venture with a WC manufacturer for large-scale production of this material.

用UPC刀具對模具進行超精密切削加工正朝著高精度和更加微的加工方向發展。從CD到CD-ROM、MD、DVD,不斷發展的光盤種類所需要的拾波鏡片模具也不斷精密化,因此,加工此類模具的UPC刀具也在不斷改進。

隨 著拾波用非球面鏡片塑料化和高精度化的進展,要求加工模具(非電解鍍鎳材料)的刀具切削刃的輪廓精度(不圓度)必須具有非常高的精度。現在已開始出一種 UPC-R刀具,其圓弧切削刃的輪廓精度為50nm(0.05μm,工作範圍90°)。這種車刀是為超精密切削加工開發的專用刀具,配用於CNC多軸超精 密車床。

隨著光盤製品不斷向小形化發展,鏡片也日趨小型化,曲率也日益減小。UPC刀具的刀尖圓弧半徑也由R1.0mm減小至R0.1mm,為獲得鋒利的切削刃,刀尖角也降至40°以下。

隨著DVD的問世,為了生產DVD和CD可共用的零件,光學系統更加複雜,鏡片也更加微小,包含鏡片在內的光學元件數量隨之減少。為了將複雜的光學元件功能集中在1個光學元件上,便產生了利用衍射效應的全息元件。

DVD 和CD(含CD-ROM)盤面信號的位置各不相同,因此,用來讀出信號的激光的焦點聚焦位置也不同,通過鏡片將不同位置的兩個焦點聚集在一起。具有此種功 能的鏡片叫做雙焦點全息鏡片,其中,在非球面鏡片位置聚焦一個焦點,通過該非球面鏡片上刻制的衍射柵所生成的衍射光,聚焦另一個焦點。加工這種鏡片模具的 刀具必須具有高精度圓弧切削刃,以便在使用該模具加工非球面鏡片時,能夠保持極高的輪廓精度。加工微細全息衍射柵時,要求刀具必須具有非常鋒利的切削刃。 現在已開發出能夠滿足此種要求的UPC-R刀具,其刀尖圓弧半徑為R5μm。當UPC-R刀具刀尖圓弧半徑較大,在加工微米級衍射柵時,衍射柵溝槽部位呈 現出圓弧形,其光學性能將大為減弱;當刀尖圓弧半徑減小至5μm時,加工出的衍射柵溝槽便非常精密,其光學性能大為提高。另外,R5μm的圓弧切削刃輪廓 精度達到50nm,這種高精度切削刃通過超高精度機床,可加工出精度極高的非球面形狀,其光學性能完全能夠達到標準所要求的水平。如要進一步提高雙焦鏡片 的光學性能,則應開發出刀尖圓弧更小(如R1μm)的刀具。

加工5μm溝槽的UPC-T車刀

DVD這類產品不僅要求雙焦點,而且要求圖像、信息高密度化和高精度化,正向著小型化、多功能化發展,因此,其光學系統也更加複雜。此種將複雜光學系統集成化的元件稱為HOE(Holographic Optical Element)。

在HOE上刻制有許多微米級間隔的細槽,利用光衍射現象,將10餘個鏡片等光學元件的功能集成在一個HOE上。變更間距和深度,便可自由進行光的分度、偏轉和形狀的變換。

這 些光學元件的加工,過去大都用半導體加工時所採用的光刻蝕技術,但光刻技術所加工出的溝槽底部為圓形,深槽則要分數次刻蝕,因此,常常出現刻蝕不均勻情 況,這將降低光的利用率。為解決這一難題,現已開發出一種UPC-T車刀,這種刀具可進行微米級超細溝槽的精密切削加工。

刃尖寬度為 5μm的UPC-T車刀,其矩形部位的切深可達10μm。用這種刀具可加工間距為5μm的平行槽。加工時刀具固定,規定切深,工件沿單一方向作直線運動即 可完成加工。加工條件為:被加工材料:非電解鍍鎳模具;機床:超精密CNC車床;刀具:長度8~35L,刃寬5μm;工藝參數:進給速度:1m/min, 切削深度:1μm,切削液:電加工用潤滑油(霧狀冷卻)。在這樣的條件下,採用UPC刀具加工矩形槽,可獲得刻蝕加工無法達到的矩形槽精度。另外,利用 UPC刀具加工的模具所生產的塑料光學元件,具有優異的光學性能。
