Ein Drehmeißel - in der Schweiz und ugs. in deutschen Betrieben auch Drehstahl - ist ein Werkzeug, das in der spanabhebenden Bearbeitung zum Drehen eingesetzt wird. Ein Drehmeißel besteht in der Regel aus einem Stahlschaft, auf den eine Wendeschneidplatte geschraubt oder geklemmt wird.

Schneidstoffe [Bearbeiten]

Als Schneidstoff für Drehwerkzeuge werden vorwiegend Wendeschneidplatten aus beschichtetem Hartmetall oder Schneidkeramik eingesetzt. Weitere Schneidstoffe sind polykristallines kubisches Bornitrid, polykristalliner (PD) sowie monokristalliner Diamant (MD). PD/MD-Schneidstoffe werden heute bei der Bearbeitung von NE-Metallen wie z.B. Messing, Al-Legierungen oder Ti-Legierungen eingesetzt. Für harte Werkstoffe ist polykristallines kubisches Bornitrid, für Gusseisen Siliciumnitrid einsetzbar. Vereinzelt (z. B. bei schwierigen Formen oder bei Schwingungsproblemen) werden auch heute noch Drehmeißel aus Schnellarbeitsstahl (HSS) verwendet.

Formen der Drehmeißel [Bearbeiten]

Drehmeißel werden grundsätzlich nach zwei Gesichtspunkten unterschieden.

• Schneidrichtung. Die Lage der Hauptschneide zum Schaft bestimmt die Schneidrichtung. Zu Beachten ist dabei, dass die Richtung aus Sicht des Werkstücks angegeben wird. Es gibt die Ausführungen R (rechtsschneidend) und L (linksschneidend), N (neutral).
• Außen- und Innendrehmeißel. Nach der Bearbeitungslage unterscheidet man zwischen Außen- und Innendrehmeißel. Innendrehmeißel haben gewöhnlich einen längeren Schaft, da die Schneide weiter von der Kassette entfernt sein muss, um auch weit in ein Werkstück hineinfahren zu können.

Je nach angewandtem Drehverfahren gibt es unterschiedliche Arten von Drehmeißeln. Dies sind Drehmeißel mit genormten DIN-Wendeschneidplatten für die gängisten Bearbeitungen, Stechmeißel zum Einstechen von Nuten und Abstechen von Bauteilen, sowie Gewindedrehmeißel zum Gewindedrehen.

Various tool bits, carbide inserts and holders

The term tool bit generally refers to a non-rotary cutting tool used in metal lathes, shapers, and planers. Such cutters are also often referred to by the set-phrase name of single-point cutting tool. The cutting edge is ground to suit a particular machining operation and may be resharpened or reshaped as needed. The ground tool bit is held rigidly by a tool holder while it is cutting.

Originally, all tool bits were made of high carbon tool steels with the appropriate hardening and tempering. Since the introductions of high-speed steel (HSS) (early years of the 20th century), sintered carbide (1930s), and ceramic cutters, those materials have gradually replaced the earlier kinds of tool steel in almost all cutting applications. Most tool bits today are either HSS or carbide.

Carbide, ceramics (such as cubic boron nitride), and diamond, having higher hardness than HSS, all allow faster material removal than HSS in most cases. Because these materials are expensive and hard to work with, typically the body of the cutting tool is made of steel, and a small cutting edge made of the harder material is attached. The cutting edge is usually either screwed on (in this case it is called an insert), or brazed on to a steel shank (this is usually only done for carbide).

By confining the expensive hard cutting tip to the part doing the actual cutting, the cost of tooling is reduced. The supporting tool holder can then be made from a tougher steel, which besides being cheaper is also usually better suited to the task, being less brittle than the cutting-edge materials.

The tool holders may also be designed to introduce additional properties to the cutting action, such as

• Angular approach - direction of tool travel.
• Spring loading - deflection of the tool bit away from the material when excessive load is applied.
• Variable overhang - the tool bit may be extended or retracted as the job requires.
• Rigidity - the tool holder can be sized according to the work to be performed.
• Direct cutting fluid or coolant to the work area.

Note that since stiffness (rather than strength) is usually the design driver of a tool holder, the steel used doesn't need to be particularly hard or strong as there is relatively little difference between the stiffnesses of most steel alloys.

Almost all high-performance cutting tools use the insert method. There are several reasons for this. First of all, at the very high cutting speeds and feeds supported by these materials, the cutting tip can reach temperatures high enough to melt the brazing material holding it to the shank. Economics are also important; inserts are made symmetrically so that when the first cutting edge is dull they can be rotated, presenting a fresh cutting edge. Some inserts are even made so that they can be flipped over, giving as many as 8 cutting edges per insert. There are many types of inserts: some for roughing, some for finishing. Others are made for specialized jobs like cutting threads or grooves. The industry employs standardized nomenclature to describe inserts by shape, material, coating material, and size.

This form tool is for a shift knob on a motorcycle. O-rings went into the grooves after machining from 6061-T6 Aluminum. This tool has an 8-degree rake from top to bottom for clearance. This tool was designed for a 2G Brown & Sharpe screw machine.

A form tool is precision-ground into a pattern that resembles the part to be formed. The form tool can be used as a single operation and therefore eliminate many other operations from the slides (front, rear and/or vertical) and the turret, such as boxtools. A form tool turns one or more diameters while feeding into the work. Before the use of form tools, diameters were turned by multiple slide and turret operations, and thus more work to make the part. For example, a form tool can turn many diameters and in addition can also cutoff the part in a single operation and eliminate indexing the turret.

For single-spindle machines, bypassing indexing the machine can dramatically increase hourly part production. On long-running jobs it is common to use a ‘roughing tool’ tool on a different slide, or from the turret to remove the bulk of material to reduce wear on the form tool. There are also different types of form tools. Insert tools are the most common for short- to medium-range jobs (50 to 20,000 pcs). Circular form tools are usually for longer jobs, since the tool wear can be ground off the tool tip many times as the tool is rotated in its holder. There is also a skiving tool that can be used for light finishing cuts. Form tools can be made of cobalt, carbide, or high-speed steel. Carbide requires additional care because it is very brittle and will chip if chatter occurs.

A drawback when using form tools is that the feed into the work is usually slow, .0005" to .0012" per revolution depending on the width of the tool. Wide form tools create more heat and usually are problematic for chatter. Heat and chatter reduces tool life. Also, form tools wider than 2.5 times the smaller diameter of the part being turned have a greater risk of the part breaking off. When turning longer lengths, a support from the turret can be used to increase turning length from 2.5 times to 5 times the smallest diameter of the part being turned, and this also can help reduce chatter. Despite the drawbacks, the elimination of extra operations often makes using form tools the most efficient option.

バイト（オランダ語beitel, 英語tool bit）とは、旋盤や平削盤などでの切削加工に用いられる工具（切削工具）。その素材には、高速度鋼や超硬合金、またはそれらの先端により硬い材質を刃先としてろう付けし たものが用いられる。これらムクのバイトやろう付けバイトでは、バイト本体と刃先は一体不可分となっているため、刃先が摩耗したらバイトを丸ごと交換しな ければならない。これに対し、摩耗する刃先部分のみを交換できればより合理的であるとの考えから、今日では刃先部分の本体への固定を機械的な仕組みとし交 換可能としたものも多い。このような交換可能な刃先部分はインサートと呼ばれ、標準的な形状のものについてISOで基本的な大きさが取り決められている。

ノーズ (Nose)

ノーズとはバイトの刃の先端部分を指す。ピンと尖っていると容易に刃こぼれしてしまうため、多かれ少なかれ意図的に丸みを付けて予防している。

チップブレーカ (Chip Breaker)

チッ プブレーカとは、バイトのスクイ面に取り付け、あるいは研ぎ込まれるもので、切削時に排出される切屑(チップ)を均一に巻いたり、あるいは破 断させ、切削し易くする。インサートの場合は、一般にプレス成形により製造されプレス用金型の表面形状が転写されるため、チップブレーカとして作用する形 状をこの工程で作り込んでしまうことが多い。

シャンク (Shank)

シャンクとは、バイトを刃物台に保持するための部分（刃以外の部分）を示す。またシャンクには12×12、16×16等その角のサイズがあり、その数値から12mm角バイト、16mm角バイト等と呼ばれる。

切削加工の際バイトには大きな負荷がかかっており、剛性が不足する状況ではビビリが生じる場合がある。ビビリを積極的に利用する特殊なバイトも中にはあるが、一般的には加工に応じた適切なサイズのバイトを使用したり加工条件を変更するなどして未然に防ぐことが重要である。

Торцевая фреза

Фреза — режущий многолезвийный инструмент в виде тела вращения с зубьями для фрезерования. Бывают цилиндрические, торцевые, червячные и др. Материал режущей части — быстрорежущая сталь, твердый сплав или композит. В деревообработке известна фреза в виде цепи — фрезерная цепь из закаленной инструментальной стали.

В зависимости от конструкции и типа зубьев фрезы бывают цельные (полностью из одного материала), наварные (хвостовик и режущая часть состоит из различного материала, сваренные вместе), сборные (из различного материала, но соединенные стандартными крепежными элементами - винтами, болтами, гайками, клиньями). На рисунке представлена сборная фреза для торцового фрезерования.

Концевые фрезы представляют собой группу фрез, отличающихся креплением в шпинделе фрезерного станка. Крепление фрез в шпинделе станка производят при помощи цилиндрического или конического хвоста. Зубья на цилиндрической части конструируют аналогично зубьям цилиндрических фрез, а на торцовой части аналогично зубьям на торцовой части торцовых фрез. Концевые фрезы подразделяют на: -концевые обыкновенные с неравномерным окружным шагом зубьев цилиндрическим и коническим хвостовиками

-концевые, оснащенные коронками и винтовыми пластинками из твердого сплава

-концевые шпоночные с цилиндрическим и коническим хвостовиками

-шпоночные, оснащенные твердым сплавом

-концевые для Т-образных пазов

Угловые фрезы

Угловые фрезы находят применение преимущественно для фрезерования канавок Они бывают: -одноугловые -двухугловые

Одноугловые фрезы применяют для фрезерования прямых канавок на фрезах и другом инструменте.

Двухугловые несимметричные фрезы применяют для фрезерования прямых и винтовых канавок, а симметричные для фрезерования канавок фасонных фрез.

Дисковые фрезы

Дисковые фрезы бывают четырех типов: -пазовые -двусторонние -трехсторонние -регулируемые

Пазовые дисковые фрезы имеют зубья только на цилиндрической поверхности. Для уменьшения трения по торцам на фрезах предусматривается вспомогательный угол в плане ф Важным элементом дисковой пазовой фрезы является ширина, так как фреза предназначена для обработки пазов.

Двусторонние дисковые фрезы, кроме зубьев, расположенных на цилиндрической поверхности, имеют зубья на торце

У трехсторонних дисковых фрез зубья расположены на цилиндрической поверхности и на обоих торцах. Условия резания у торцовых зубьев менее благоприятны, чем у зубьев, расположенных на цилиндрической поверхности. Небольшая глубина канавки у торца не дает возможности получить необходимые задние и передние углы.

Fresadora em operação.

Fresas utilizadas numa fresadora.

Fresadora é uma máquina de movimento continuo, destinada a usinagem de materiais. Remove-se cavacos por meio de uma ferramenta de corte chamada fresa.

A operação de fresagem consta da combinação de movimentos simultâneos da ferramenta e da peça a ser usinada simultaneamente.

A ferramenta de trabalho da fresadora é classificada de fios (Afiações) múltiplos e se poder montar num eixo chamado porta–fresas. As combinações de fresas de diferentes formas, conferem à máquina características especiais e sobretudo vantagens sobre outras máquinas-ferramenta.

Uma das principais características da fresadora, é a realização de uma grande variedade de trabalhos tridimensionais. O corte pode ser realizado em superfícies situadas em planos paralelos, perpendiculares, ou formando ângulos diversos: construir ranhuras circulares, elípticas, fresagem em formas esféricas, côncavas e convexas, com rapidez e precisão.

Outras características importantes e que nos dão ideia das possibilidades da máquina são:

• Comprimento e largura da mesa;
• Giro da mesa em ambos os sentidos;
• Máximo deslocamento longitudinal da mesa;
• Máximo deslocamento transversal da mesa;
• Máximo deslocamento vertical do suporte da mesa;
• Máxima altura da superfície da mesa em relação ao eixo principal;
• Maior e menor números de RPM do eixo principal;
• Avanços da mesa em mm/min;
• Velocidade e potencia do motor;
• Peso que a maquina suporta sobre a mesa.

Estas características são as que permitem identificar a máquina nos catálogos comerciais , onde são explicadas com detalhes.

As fresadoras se classificam segundo a posição do eixo-árvore em relação à superfície da mesa de coordenadas. Desta forma, salientam-se fresadoras dos seguintes tipos: horizontal, vertical, universal e especial.

O eixo-árvore ocupa a posição horizontal, paralela à superfície da mesa da máquina. A peça é presa num divisor ou numa morsa, podendo se deslocar em qualquer eixo horizontal (x, y).

O eixo-árvore ocupa posição vertical , perpendicular à superfície da mesa da máquina. A peça pode se deslocar nas coordenadas x e/ou y em relação à ferramenta, sua fixação também pode ser através de um "divisor" ou de uma "morsa".

Fresadora universal (de 5 eixos).

É a máquina mais versátil, chamada assim porque permite que sejam efetuados diversos tipos de trabalhos diferentes. Essa versatilidade deve-se a seus acessórios especiais: cabeçote universal, eixo porta-fresas, cabeçote divisor e contraponta, mesa circular, aparelho contornador e mesa inclinável. A peça pode ser deslocada em qualquer eixo, x, y e z, e ainda pode sofrer rotações nos sentidos horário e anti-horário simultaneamente aos movimentos tridimensionais. Este poder de mobilidade confere à peça qualquer formato que se desejar.

Enquadram-se nesta classe as fresadoras que se destinam a trabalhos específicos. Por exemplo: fresadora copiadora, cortadora de rodas dentadas, ferramenteira, etc.

A fresadora ferramenteira destaca-se como a de maior importância para a realização dos trabalhos de ferramentaria, sendo, portanto, objeto de estudos mais detalhados.

A fresadora-ferramenteira é usada em trabalhos especiais. Assemelha-se a fresadora vertical com alguns recursos de movimento em seu cabeçote vertical girando no sentido do eixo x, eixo y e z. Em alguns momentos podemos operá-la como fresadora horizontal. Para isso, monta-se nela um cabeçote especial que aciona o eixo horizontal e a torna mais versátil. Pode-se montar em seu cabeçote: mandril porta-pinça, mandril universal ou de aperto rápido. Esta máquina se destaca por sua versatilidade, precisão e rendimento com auxilio de régua e indicador digital. Ferramentaria: Atividade em expansão

En fres er en verktøymaskin med et roterende skjæreverktøy med mange egger. En fres kan brukes til for eksempel planering av emner (slik som toppen på en bilmotor), fremstilling av tenner i tannhjul, spor i aksler og annet.
