Maŝin-pafilo estas portebla aŭ loke muntebla aŭtomata etkalibra pulvopafilo ĝenerale planita por rapida pafado fusil-kuglojn el pafaĵo-zono aŭ grand-enhaveca kartoĉujo, ordinare po plurcent kuglojn en minuto. Antaŭ aŭtomateco, maŝin-pafiloj estis funkciigataj per aliaj rimedoj, ekzemple per permana movado krankon.

Plimulto de la maŝinpafiloj pafas po 500–1000-foje en minuto. La modernaj pafiloj pafas daŭre ĝis oni povas postplenigi per kartoĉrubandoj.

La pafiloj repleniĝas per la retropuŝa forto de la pafado.
