树脂磨具所用的磨料品种有：A 、WA、SA、WA、PA、ZA、BA、和C、GC、SC等。
树脂磨具对磨料表面质量要求严格。为了提高磨料和结合剂的粘结能力，并改善磨料的某些性能可对磨料进行煅烧、颗粒整形、表面涂附、表面腐蚀、偶联剂处理等。有时为了增加磨具的适应性，改善其磨削性能有时候必须采用不同的种类的混合磨料。
混合磨料：是一种简单的调质方法。促使其兼具两种或两种以上磨料的优点，从而提高磨削性能。 结合剂：树脂作为有机磨具的结合剂是把松散的磨料粘结。固结成一定的形状，经热处理使其具有一定的硬度、强度和磨削性能。
磨具用树脂：目前国内制造树脂磨具的，使用最多的人造树脂是酚醛树脂，另外还有环氧树脂，新酚树脂，聚砜树脂，聚乙烯醇缩醛，聚酰胺，尼龙。
为适应某些特殊产品的要求，改善磨具的性能，近年来出现了在酚醛树脂中加入一定量的其他树脂的混合物做结合剂使用。比如其与后面的几种的混合物。
