贴金是一种传统、特殊的工艺，在现代包金工艺还没有诞生时，贴金与包金是同一意思，它是将很薄的金箔包贴在器物外表，起保护、装饰作用。由于有了现代包金 工艺，贴金工艺成了一项独特的工艺。传统的贴金工艺，是先将成色很高的黄金，打造成极薄的金箔片（厚度在0.12微米），此时，金箔具有很强附着性，对一 些光滑的材料有着很好的互吸性。过去除了一些工艺品需要贴金外，现在大量的贴金用于佛像、招牌、建筑物等。贴金对一些不能用镀金和包金枝术进行加工的产 品，具有很高的应用价值。 真正的金箔是用真金打造而成，大小在 9.33CM*9.33CM左右，它非常的薄，用手无法拿起，买来的金箔夹在毛边纸中，要用镊子夹起。制作金箔的工艺本身就是一绝！是中国传统文化的瑰 宝。金箔有几种，根据不同的含金量而有所不同，含金量高的偏黄，低的则偏红。市面上也有假冒的金箔，我们称为铜箔(仿金箔)，鉴别方法是：真金的颜色沉 着，柔和，铜箔的颜色较之刺眼，颜色不纯正。如果你没有通过肉眼鉴别的经验？有一种很简单的方法就是：任意抽取一张，用打火机烧一下，真金是不怕火炼的， 而铜箔一烧立刻会变成黑色。
