3.2 X65高强度厚规格管线钢的开发与应用
近年来管线钢管向厚壁、大口径方向发展，为满足海外市场和我国未来管线工业发展需求，宝钢从1997年起开始进行X65厚规格高强度管线钢开发。通过16.5mm厚X65管线金刚板卷的试制，探索了宝钢生产高钢级厚规格X65管线钢的生产可行性，积累了实际工艺数据。
试制的X65管线钢板卷和用其试制的ø1422mm×16.5mm焊管强度均满足API 5L规范中对X65钢级的要求。通过成分和工艺的调整形成X65高强度高韧性厚规格管线钢板卷的生产控制技术，并应用于批量生产14.3mm厚出口土耳其的X65管线钢板卷。
批量生产X65管线钢板卷厚度从原来的10mm以下发展到14.5mm，试生产厚度达16.5mm。1997年以来宝钢已累积生产了52万吨X65高强度高韧性管线钢板卷，并先后应用于印度输油管线、苏丹输油管线和土耳其输气管线等海外管线工程。表3是国外某一制管厂用宝钢管线钢板卷生产& oslash;1，219.2mm×14.3mm厚规格大口径X65高钢级管线钢焊管的管体性能统计结果，焊管具有高强度和高韧性，满足用户的技术条件要求。
近年来宝钢管线钢的钢级不断地向高钢级、厚规格发展。在X系列管线钢的年产量中，X65高强度高韧性管线钢所占的比例逐年增加，1999年达83.4%。厚规格高强度X65管线钢的开发和批量生产为宝钢后来进行西气东输工程用管线钢的开发和生产积累了经验。
