【技術の名称】

２－２－１a　新構造の超硬合金スローアウェイエンドミル（４－２、４－３、８－１－２、８－１－３、８－２－２、８－４－４）

【技術内容】

工具の回転中心部を独特の形状にした超硬スローアウェイエンドミルを開発し、工具の回転中心や外周の刃先が欠けやすいなどの問題を解決した。

本エンドミルは、剛性の高い本体に四角のポジチップをクランプネジで固定する構造を有する。刃部に特殊形状のリブを設けることにより本体の剛性を高め切屑の排出性を改善した。スローアウェイチップは標準のM級穴付ポジ（11°）にエンド刃（２個所）を設けた。

エンド刃の刃形形状を図１に示す。従来のエンドミルより芯高を（＋）としており、その分Wが大きくなり剛性が増す。外径が小さくなるほどその効果は大きくなる。

刃先の角度を図２に示す。第１の切れ刃は外周と接し、第２の切れ刃は工具中心部を凹Ｒで包み、その交点Cを境界としている。C点を境にラジアルレーキとアクシャルレーキは完全に（＋）（－）が逆になる。その大きな角度差等が切削性能の向上に貢献する。

上記のポジチップの採用とエンド刃の効果により、エンドミーリング加工のほかに浅穴のドリル加工も可能な複合切削工具として、鋼、非鉄金属、プラスチック等において良好な切削性を発揮する。加工事例の切削条件等を図３に示す。
