中国铸造协会压铸分会预计，2006年中国压铸件产量预计突破100万t。

该协会公布的统计数据显示，2005年全国压铸件产量86.4万t，这只是指狭义的高压压铸。按广义的压铸范畴，即包括低压铸造和挤压铸造等各种压力下铸造成型工艺，其总产量可达140万t。

2005年中国有色金属铸件总产量为199万t，其中，铝铸件产量占85%为169万t。对于铝铸件，压力铸造（即压铸）是最主要的铸造方法，占到铝铸件产量的37%，另外，低压铸造、挤压铸造占33%，重力铸造、砂型铸造占30%。
