２－１－５a　高能率・多機能カッタ（４－２－２、８－１－２、８－１－４）

【技術内容】

切り刃強度が高く切屑かみのない形状を有し、かつ独特の高剛性クランプ機構を有する高能率・多機能なカッタを開発した。本カッタは８角 形のポジチップを有し、本体支持部以外の５辺が全て切れ刃として作用する構造であるため、図１に示すとおり、平削り、深い肩削り、下穴なしの掘り込み加 工、各種面取り加工のほか、穴あけ加工など多様な用途に対応できる。平削りの場合、切込みが３mm以下の場合には８コーナの切れ刃が使用でき、切込みが最 大の９mmでも４コーナが使用できるので、従来の正面フライスやエンドミルに比べ経済的である。

図１に示すごとく、切れ刃最大径より工具本体径を極力小さくし、被削材との隙間を約５mmと大きくした。この隙間により、エアブローの届きにくい金型の深部の切削においても切屑がみが改善され、切屑に埋没する状態での切削でも切れ刃は欠損しなかった。

チップクランプ機構にはスクリューオン方式を採用し、スクリューに過大な力が掛らないようにチップ底面に凹部を、工具本体に凸部を設けてかみ合せた。

本カッタの採用により、従来、図１の製品を加工するには図２に示す６種類の工具が必要であったが、これを１本の工具に集約できた。掘り 込み加工と深い肩削り加工の実例を図３に示す。ただし、切込み量の大小により壁面精度が異なることと、底面と壁面との間に５mm程度の面取り部が残ること に注意する必要がある。
